About Naijaspora
-
Naijaspora is a non-political, non-religious, non-ethnic-affiliated, private initiative coalition of Nigerians in the diaspora. It is a public service project that seeks to elevate the profiles of Nigerians as well as provide support to Nigerian citizens and communities, home and abroad.
The Naijaspora project is the brainchild of Babatunde Oladele, a graduate of the Clinton School of Public Service. During his studies at the Clinton School, Babatunde did a stint at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France, where he was part of some UNESCO projects specifically targeted at improving global peace. He also participated in several developmental projects aimed at improving welfare, fostering inclusive economic growth across the United States, and providing equitable access to the national commonwealth for the American people. These exposures afforded him firsthand insight into how developed nations address development issues as well as how they seek to solve their problems. It also inspired him to seek to replicate the process in addressing some of the challenges in his native country.
